Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be in the spotlight? Have you ever BEEN in the spotlight? Do you dream of belting out a song in front of an audience? Or perhaps you imagine yourself in a single pool of light delivering Hamlet’s famous lines… “To be or not to be… that is the question…” If you or someone you love is a star waiting to shine bright, this blog is for you!
I love exploring all aspects of performing arts. I am a performer (singer, actor, and dancer), director, choreographer, producer, educator, studio owner, theatre owner, philanthropist, kid-enthusiast, mother, sister, daughter, and now… blogger! I’m here to share my observations, experiences, insight, and stories (both on stage and off) with you.
Why should you listen to me? Let’s put it this way… I am REALLY into this stuff! I am a lifelong learner who loves to find answers when I don’t have them. If you want to see where I’ve been and what I’ve done, check out my bio here. These days, and since 2017 when I founded Wonderland Performing Arts, my life has been pretty focused on kiddos. I am fascinated by how the arts can improve our quality of life and I feel a deep need to ensure our future generation has opportunities to learn and practice the arts that they love.
Over the last five years, despite the traitorous “Covid Years,” I have been able to grow my studio, build a new theatre in my hometown of Lafayette, LA and establish a non-profit theatre company that will serve even more youth PLUS adults in my community. I’m pretty stoked about all of it and just want to share my thoughts with you. My hope for this blog is that it may inspire you to get yourself and the children in your life – be it your own kids or your nieces, nephews, godchildren, neighbors, randos you meet in the community – more involved in the arts. I hope you enjoy and take some magic with you.
