Brii Simmons

Brii is studying Vocal Music Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She grew up singing with her mom and sister, along with a long lineage of vocalists in her family. She has performed in state and southern regional singing competitions with the National Association of Teachers of Singing, placing in both Musical Theatre and Classical categories, Farm Bureau Singing Competition, and Center Stage Singing Competition. She also participated in District and Parish honor choir from 2010-2014. She has also performed in several shows with the UL Opera Theatre: Les Miserables (Ensemble), You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow: A Stephen Sondheim Evening (herself), Sweeney Todd (Ensemble), Another Opening, Another Show (herself), Three Singers and Some Furniture: An Evening of Opera Scenes (Rosina/Susanna/Mademoiselle Silberklang) and has worked in tech crew for Viva Italia!: Italian Opera Scenes.

Brii is currently student teaching at Broadmoor Elementary School, and will be graduating from ULL in May of 2019. After graduation, she aspires to plant roots in Lafayette and teach grades K-4, as well as continuing to teach theatre and music at Wonderland!

She is so excited to be a new member of the Wonder Staff! This Spring she is directing Aristocats: The Musical, as well as teaching lots of fun classes at Wonderland! She loves teaching and spreading a love for music among all ages, and is so happy to have the opportunity to share it with the Wonderland crew!
